While visiting San Francisco, my daughters and I met up with an old friend and her 3-year old to see the aquarium. After the girls had oohed and aahed over the fish and I got to touch a leopard shark, we settled at a cafe to eat and chat.
Then it struck me. My friend is a stay-at-home mom. I am a working mom. And yet, we had a wonderful conversation and playdate. Even more amazing is that this kind of meeting of different worlds happens all over the country every day. Not to mention in the same family, at different stages of life.
You can tell by now that I think the so-called Mommy Wars are mostly hype. Anyone else have SAHM friends, or -- gasp -- been a SAHM yourself?
