The death of 10-month old Marcia Poston breaks my heart. I’m sure everyone involved has a heartbreaking story: the daycare provider who will live with the baby’s killing on her conscience; the troubled 7-year old who, police allege, fatally abused the baby; and the poor mom who was probably doing the best she could to find adequate, affordable care for her precious child. And of course, innocent Marcia, whose chubby smile I can’t bear to look at -- all that potential cut short.
It’s the kind of story that sends chills down any working mother’s spine. No matter how much you love your care provider, you wonder: could that happen to my baby? I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts.

As a mom of 3, my heart is equally broken by the news of baby Marcia Poston. I can not imagine what was going through anyone’s mind or heart to hurt little Marcia (be it a child or adult). Children as so special and I cry each time I read a story on little Marcia Poston (which has been nationwide). It is really unfortunate that anyone mom or (couple in Mrs. Rhonda’s case), trying to make a living and putting your MOST VALUABLE possession in the hands of someone and receive a call to come to a hospital about your child, arrive and your child is not living anymore…a baby…a little baby. I truly pray for the couple that lost little Marica, her blue/gray eyes, her laughter she brought to them, her 1st steps, her 1st coo’s, long nights (in the 1st months) can not be replaced and will never be forgotten. To the parents of baby Marcia, try and keep the memories in your hearts, and don’t cry to long…she is now in a better place waiting for you guys. Live Life with Christ and you will see her again, I promise!
That was our little neice and it has been very hard for us to digest the reality of this tragedy. I understand that it is hard for you to look at Marcia’s chubby smile, but we want you to look at her smile and allow it to brighten up your day as it always did for us.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to move forward.
May God bless you and your family.
aS THE PARENT’S OF mARCIA WE WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME. THIS IS CERTAINLY SOMETHING WE WILL NVER FORGET. THIS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT AND OUR BABY GIRL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LEFT UNSUPERVISED FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME.

As suspected, this was not done by a child. I say the adult caregiver is responsible. God Bless Marcia and her grieving family.

I would like for you all to know that the daycare provider who was responsible for this horrific incident has applied for an appeal to get her daycare license back to open another daycare in another state, Maryland. We are writing letters to the judge who is presiding over this case to plead that her license will not be granted. If any of you are interested in writing a letter in support of her denial please email me at nickye@comcast.net and I will supply the judge’s address. Thank you.

Rhonda, it has been years since I talked to you or saw you. Something reminded me of you and I decided to try to find you on Facebook by typing your name in Google. When I hit search, the articles about little Marcia came up. I just started to cry when I knew it was you. I am so sorry this happened to you and your family, and especially to your baby girl. I am grieving with you. May Little Marcia be in God’s Protective Hands now. And may justice come swiftly. God bless you, I am praying for your peace and your strength through this. You are in my heart. God is still God, even at a time like this. Be encouraged more and more each day. Trouble don’t last always.
