The end of the school year and the beginning of summer is a time of special agony for many working parents. Not only is the logistical headache of camp season about to begin, there are any number of year-end performances, parties, picnics, graduations and other school events at which your presence is requested.
Before you go crazy contorting your schedule so you can attend every last one, take a deep breath. There are good reasons to skip a field trip or two. Not only will you gain valuable breathing room at work, your child may grow from the experience.
How do you feel when you miss a school event? Here’s a shoulder to cry on or a hand to high-five.
