Dream Dinners Cures the Nightmare Rush to Cook After Work
Whoever was handing out the cooking genes skipped me. My dinner repertoire consists of chicken quesadillas, pasta with meat sauce, and canned tuna on top of a Dole salad mix. Unless warming up soup and chicken nuggets counts?
Fortunately, my husband is an amazing cook. He can glance in the fridge and create something delicious from whatever’s there. But I’m the planner, and I care about the kids having a balanced meal. Dinner falls to me at least half the time.
So I have been enjoying getting to know meal preparation services like Dream Dinners. You pick recipes that sound good, spend an hour-plus putting together meals, and leave with dinners for the next week or two. No grocery shopping, no cutting, no cleanup, no heavy-duty thinking.
They're a nice supplement to my usual repertoire. It’s about the same cost as the meals we make from groceries, and certainly less work. I just have to remember to take the frozen meals out the night before I want to cook them.
Has anyone else tried Dream Dinners, Let’s Dish, or a similar outfit? I’d love to hear what works for you.

I work from home now, but when I was commuting an hour each way this saved my life. I went with a locally owned (Dallas) concept called At Home Dinners. The food was fresh and the atmosphere was fun- they served wine while you prepped your food. They also allowed you to call in and just pick up your meals to toss in the freezer. On top of that the ownership is really nice. Check it out if you live in Dallas, Plano area. http://www.athomedinners.com/
