Working Moms SOTW - Sloan Work and Family Research Network

Friday September 19, 2008

When I was putting together a proposal for flexible hours at work, I wanted to include statistics showing that my productivity would actually increase if my work-life balance improved. I wish I had known about the Sloan Work and Family Research Network, which has just about any data you’d want on work-family balance. That's only one reason it's the About Working Moms Site of the Week.

The network, hosted by Boston College, compiles statistics on afterschool care and breastfeeding at work alongside insights on flexible work schedules. The range of work-family research sponsored by the Sloan Foundation is searchable through the site. You can also find case studies on workplace flexibility and information on employer-sponsored child care.

Please let me know what you think! If you use any of their data for a flexible schedule proposal, please share your story.
