Why Working Mothers Feel Thankful for Mondays

Many a Monday, I have breathed a sigh of relief after dropping my children off at daycare. Quiet. Blessed quiet. A cup of coffee that won't be interrupted by a request for a snack, complaint about a sibling or wailing over the latest boo-boo. It's a welcome change from a hectic weekend filled with housework and kid activities.
I struggled with whether to write about the reasons I'm thankful to be a working mother. I don't want to minimize the difficulties working mothers face in juggling children, a career and adult relationships.
And I certainly don't want to ignite the Mommy Wars by suggesting that working moms are better than stay-at-home moms. We're not! Both are totally valid life choices and the truth is that many of us will cycle between the different roles. Many working moms are former stay-at-home moms and many stay-at-home moms plan to reenter the workforce. We should support each other.
So I'm putting it out there with some trepidation, all the reasons I love being a working mom. Readers, I'd love to hear what's on your list.

Great points Katherine. As parents we all make the decisions we feel are best for our families and that we shouldn’t be criticized for doing what we feel is best.
