Why Did Sarah Palin Quit?

By , About.com GuideJuly 4, 2009

Follow me on:

Sarah Palin shocked the world yesterday when she announced plans to step down as Alaska governor by the end of the month. Reportedly, even her brother and fellow Alaska Republicans were caught by surprise. This unexpected news comes on the heels of a blistering article in Vanity Fair that cited anonymous Republican aides questioning her mental state.

I'm not sure what to make of the news, but I'm confident of one thing: we haven't seen the last of Sarah Palin, one of the most polarizing and prominent working moms around. Whether she's quitting to further her reputation as a maverick or to leave the media spotlight in advance of a possible scandal, I'm betting she'll take center stage again before long.

What do you think?

I read one piece of her speech in which she said she didn’t want to finish her term as a lame duck. How ridiculous!

Her resignation is just another piece of evidence that she is unfit to govern in any major capacity. What condition would our country be in if every office-holder who was not planning to run for re-election quit a year early in order to avoid being a “lame duck”? Sarah Palin is a loose cannon, and if the Republicans really want to rebuild their party, they’ll avoid her like the plague.

Perhaps a television career “Talk Show” or maybe maybe she should go into adult entertainment. I would watch both.

~No, No, No Palin didn’t quit because she was afraid they would expose some hidden thingy that would hurt her. They went through all of her e-mails. Didn’t find a thing. Try that with the others and see what you come up with. LOTS OF STUFF…That’s for sure…We need people with the character she has. You’ll rarely find it……Why did she quit? Partly because the Left rode her after the elections even as much as they did during the elections. It was better for the people of her state that she turn it over to someone else with still some control…Besides, She could take care of other buisness too. Alaska is doing well and always has been because of her great leadership. She isn’t a mafioso community organizer. Besides, Even Al Capone helped out in the communities with less illegal activity towards the community subjects (and our country) that Barry did. The Left will Never leave Palin alone. SHE’S THEIR Achilles’ heel, Yet much bigger than ANYONE COULD EVER REALIZE………..

This unexpected news comes on the heels of a blistering article in Vanity Fair that cited *”anonymous”* Republican aides questioning her mental state. Come on now…Give some names here. If that’s the best they can do then everybody will be spouting “anonymous” reports…LOL…Come on and grow up…Show some responsibility to PROVING THESE CLAIMS. All I’ve been hearing the Left do is talk about peoples “mental conditions”. They’ve sure got a lot of room to talk. The Democratic leaders look and act like “poster children” used to advertise for funds that support the mental hospitals. They belong on the sides of milk cartons…Not political posters….
