On the 10th day of Christmas, my About guide gave to me: 10 fun games to keep kids happy...
Why do activities for school-aged kids taper off as we near Christmas? Don't the organizers know that working parents need every minute possible to work in the days leading up to a holiday? Often, it seems that the only way to take a vacation is to do all the work that would've fit into the days you're taking off!
For those moments when you're finishing up a project and your children's after-school karate class ended a week before winter break, pull out some fun Christmas games to keep them occupied. They'll also come in handy when you're cooking a big holiday meal and prefer not to spill hot sauce on your kindergartener's head.
This year is the first holiday we've enjoyed with an iPad, and I'm exploring the many applications that amuse my children. For instance, UNICEF has just released a free coloring book app that looks pretty good. And that's just scratching the surface of the many fun children's apps for the iPad and other mobile electronic devices.
How will you keep your children amused this holiday season?
