Even though 20 percent of U.S. workers work from home on a regular basis, it's far from simple to ensure telework success. Not only do you need solid technology and a physical space that will ensure your productivity, you also have to keep strong bonds with your colleagues in the office to keep your career on track.
The key, in my mind, is to understand that telecommuting brings its own unique challenges, so that you can address them. If you know that you need to work harder to build personal relationships with co-workers, you're well prepared to succeed.
