A Christmas Meditation Wish

The kids in our community can barely sit still today -- even many non-Christian children -- as everyone knows tomorrow is Christmas! It's a magical day for everyone because of the break from school and work, the opportunity to connect with your family, whether it's around a Christmas ham or a take-out order of Chinese food.

This week, amid the juggle of emergency child care and partial work days, I have one clear intention for myself and my family: to let down my hair, forget the schedule and simply play with my kids. Goodness knows they'll have enough new toys to play with! Call it a Christmas meditation, a pause in the hustle and bustle of life, to be present with the family.

How do you plan to spend this week? Are you taking an entire five days of winter vacation or combine some time off with some work? Please share your ideas for making it special for yourself and your kids.
